Vintage In Paris

Welcome to Vintage In Paris. You now have some of the best addresses in Paris for vintage shopping at your fingertips.

So where to start? Each area of Paris has it’s own unique vibe. Let us take you though our favourites.

Marais: A great place to start. Fashionable and cool, the Marais is a must visit destination. Boutiques are well stocked with quality items. It’s so easy to spend a day wandering here amongst the cafes, galleries and boutiques of the Marais.

Etienne Marcel: The streets around the busting Rue Montergueil are home to many boutiques catering to a fashionable crowd. Vintage shopping here is easy. Stores are well organised and the selections are thoughtfully put together. Great for mixing vintage and current trends.

Bastille: is home to Paris’ rock scene. A must visit area for vintage lovers who like it a little bit indie.

Canal St Martin/Oberkampf: is home to Paris’ fashionable bohemians “les bobos”.  This area is cool and laid back. Boutiques are hip and have an eye for current trends. This is one of our favourite parts of Paris to wander. It is less grungy than the very edgy and arty Belleville down the road.

Montmatre: is high up on the hill and is home to  Paris’ more charming vintage stores. Down below in Pigalle, the Rue des Martyrs just keeps getting hipper and hipper with many cool boutiques and cafes filling the formally seedy area.

Le Louvre: This well heeled part of town is where you go to find couture vintage.  Prices are high but you will find exquisite designer pieces here.

So now you are ready to start exploring Vintage In Paris. Let’s go shopping!

Marché aux Puces de St-Ouen

This is the largest flea market in Paris and is a must visit destination for the vintage shopper. Here you can find a wide selection of vintage clothes, antique furniture and collectables.

The market is divided up into a number of smaller markets, each with their own specialties; such as Vernaison, home to a wide selection of vintage  stalls. Other sections contain more vintage furniture and antiques for serious collectors.

Unless you want to buy cheap mass produced items, it's best to avoid the new tat at the start of the market near the metro. Rather make your way into the labyrinth of the inner flea market to find the best vintage items.

Sunday is the busiest day, so,if you don't like crowds, try visiting on a Monday when it's quieter. The market is large and it's easy to dedicate a full day to your visit.

Market shopping is hungry work so we like to have a pit stop at one of the bistros in the centre of the market. Our favourite is Chez Louisette; a cosy French bistro that hosts performances of traditional chanson.

Hippy Market

Hippy Market is located in three hip parts of Paris  - Montmatre, Chatelet and the Marais. They have a large range of colorful items from the 60's onwards. We saw lots of denim, polyester frocks and boots.
Finding something fun and cool is easy here as everything is well organised and you don't have to rummage. Despite this, prices here are low so you can take home some shoes, a dress or a jacket and still have some change left for an apero afterwards.
